Another great day.....
Lucas is looking less and less like a robot. As of today, he is not longer receiving oxygen or intravenous medicine. All that remains is a neck line, which will not be removed until discharge, and a foot blood-oxygen monitor (like a rubber band). He's doing simply great. The MDs and RNs continue to comment on how fast he is recovering. His status was downgraded from critical-care to intermediate-care. He was moved to a less-acute room and no longer requires 1:1 nursing. He has fed, straight from the source, five times. He's eating and pooping like a champ! The cardiologist suggested that if he shows us that he can gain a little weight over the weekend, they will likely discharge him early next week.
Adeline and Grandpa Haun spent the afternoon at the hospital with us and Grandpa (finally) got to spend some quality time holding his grandson. Adeline hungout in the Ronald McDonald house, with Amanda, Grandpa, and I taking turns spending time with her. She and I went to a cool little gift shop and she picked out a stuffed animal for her brother (a moose), which made Amanda cry, in a good way.
Thank you all again for your thoughts, prayers, and words of comfort; it has meant the world to us.
